how much mod will a stock ecu take?
how much mod will a stock ecu take?
Hello all,
i have a fd3s and i am planning to add some bolt on mods on it. i have bolted on a hks power flow system and soon to come a hiper cat back exhaust and down pipe.
i am wondering if my car will run lean b/c of these mods or will the ecu be able to handle/adjust to the new mods.
thanks in advance...et

The ecu will not adjust for the mods. The general rule of safety is no more than three mods to a stock ecu running ten pounds of boost. Some people have run more, but a reprogrammed ecu or power fc are much cheaper than an engine rebuild. There is plenty of info on the forum, if you search for it.

As long as you keep the boost around stock levels (10 PSI), the stock ECU will be fine for just about whatever you slap on with the stock twin turbos.
