New to the rotary
One last little question, I am getting the C-West headlight kit, I was wondering on the ease of those lights, I read some other forum this guy had such a hard time, but they hardly look like anything tough.
And a little more important. Om my 7 I will get an alarm, now the car has a turbo timer, so will that affect the alarm from arming or anything??

Well, you're persistent, I'll give ya that
On the C West headlight kit, it looks nasty and the lighting isn't much better than stock. Plus, the catz light for the kit arent made anymore. I went with HIDs in the stock popups, and am very very happy with them. For pics, do a search under my username and HIDs.
Re: the alarm, depends on which one you get. If the install shop is competent, they will be able to help you choose one that is compatible with the TT and install it so it works flawlessly. I have an Alpine with no problems.
With those mods you can make 350-375 at the motor, dependent on boost level.
I would first worry about getting the car back up to stock specs before shooting for crazy horsepower.

well i went to pettit racing, since ive seen that talked about all over this site. They have the TKT base performance package that would get me to 320. Now they gave me numbers, and i am getting a radiator and downpipe as soon as i pass emissions. But compared to pettit would anyone recommend another exhaust if there is a better one that is street legal.
I hope you have a different car to drive in the snow. Big HP, wide tires, and low ground clearance are a very bad thing when mixed with rain, and just plain insanity in snow or ice.
If I lived where it got cold, I'd get me another Subaru. They're a blast in the snow, that's the beauty of AWD.

Oh yeah, I have FWD car, my old 1992 saturn haha damn reliable little thing. I do live in Denver so just having an FD from mid October to late to early January would just be plain scary in the snow.
I still cant find any real numbers on other brands exhaust systems, unless they are all similar.

Well I definitly dont want the cheap coffee can sounding exhaust like I hear on civics and eclipses all the time. I would like some noise though just for fun though
, what about the Apexi N1 exhaust, how is that sound and performance wise.

What you should do is search the forum for videos and sounds clips of FD's. Then see what exhaust you like.
Well good news. I got my FD today, its a 93 Vintage Red FD. I got it for $11,500 after some haggling, the car has the original engine and turbos and has 54,000 miles on it, it is also the touring edition. I cant wait to start doing some work on it. I just thought I would come on here and just tell you how happy I am to own this car (which I am sure all of you have felt and still feel).

1. Penniless
2. Encountering various problems (minor and major) that could've been avoided had you got to know your car first
3. Encountering problems that will mean down time for your car, and have you complaining.
4. Penniless (or going into debt)
Just a thought.
this is the kind of newbie i like!!! he actually listens!
anyways though man, seriously, don't get all uppity on the power just yet. its never a permanent fix. you say you'll be happy with 320 at the crank but a month later you wish you had 450. just get it up and running perfectly stock THEN work on the power. now, if something stock is broken and needs replacing, that's a whole 'nother issue, get a good aftermarket one
and enjoy the new car. i know i am!

Well this question may not be a very good one due to different states regulations and so forth. But what do you think I could add and still pass emissions, I know intake, exhaust, downpipe w/ cat, intercooler.
that one you should search out in the 3rd gen section... emissions issues are covered extensively and quite often. try the appropriate regional forum also as people there will have better information for you.
I am going to be ordering an all aluminum AST, now this is probably the most ridiculous question, but what exactly does it do? Ive searched it and I find people selling and people talking about installing them.
Congrats on your purchase. I agree with holding off on modding right away. Get used to the car, and the power it has, and the responsibility needed to drive it safely. Then when you're comfortable with it, know it's capabilities, and can handle it....then start modding (power mods). Reliability mods you can do immediately (radiator especially). Good luck.

BTW, a stock AST is exposed to the coolant system pressure (13-15psi(?)), coolant temperatures, and engine heat. Since it's made of plastic, the thermal and heat cycling embrittle the plastic until one day it bursts. So you can eliminate it or buy an aluminum AST. The stock one is ok as long as you can cut off your engine the moment it bursts, but it doesn't take much to not notice and cook your engine.
The radiator has the same problem - plastic headers = embrittlement and sudden failure after time. Plus, aftermarket radiators remove engine heat faster than stock rads.

Well I just ordered Apexi N1, downpipe, intake, AST, and radiator, along with boost controller. Now on the boost controller it has settings of low and hi and hi is i think 12psi, would that be safe to use on the stock turbo setup or would i need any re-enforcement or anything.
Well the one part on the FD that was said to be almost broken broke. The handle where the window button is is broken about a fist wide (where you would hold it) would this be very hard to fix ie: take off the door panel or something. Ill post a pic when I get home
