new radiator pics

So I got my new radiator, I cleaned and painted the fan shroud to like-new condition, and for grins painted the fans yellow.
I know...it's not for everyone but I like it.

Looks great! One question though.... is that a stock radiator? I mean... it looks stock that is.

No, it is an all-metal (rather than half-plastic) unit I got from RADIATOR WORLD. It is a direct OEM fit, although it is about half again as wide on the core size. Having an automatic tranny limits one's options. This was a good one and came highly recommended.

Yeah I know.. I checked into that very same one (I have an automatic as well). I decided to go with the one from Ron Davis Racing (they make the ones for MazdaSpeed) as they offered one for an automatic (price was comparible to the the manual ones).

Here's a couple of pics for ya (sorry I didn't take any before the install).

That looks REALLY nice!

I just debated and fretted nearly endlessly over the friggin COST of that aluminum radiator like you have.....$500 bucks vs $168 finally decided it for me....lol! To me, I just didn't feel that the cost-to-benefit ratio was there.

That IS a beautiful radiator though. And I really like your silicone hoses.

Yep.. the cost was kind of up there compared to the one from radiator world, but I thought it was in the same ball park as the other popular alum. rads out there. Besides, it was a birthday gift from my wife !

Thanks! I painted the shroud with some of that DUPLICOLOR paint that has a texture to it, so it really has that new-stock look to it. And then with that shiny new glossy black radiator to really bring out the high-gloss yellow of the fans....I was pleased with the results.
