new owner flooding problem

hi their peoples just need a bit of help,i picked up my rx efini 92 up saturday it has just had an engine rebuild and is just being run in,it has been running lovely all weekend i turned it off sunday night and tried to start it tuesday night and it seemed flooded i have now burnt out the starter motor being over eager the car is still under warranty i told them about the flooding and that id mashed the starter they said get it back to them and they will sort it out free of charge.i just wanted to shed some light on the matter of flooding and what could be causing it as dont want to be popping the hood every time i want to take it out.any answers would be very appreciated.iggy7

read faq, does it have used housings? if so they take awhile to build up compression depending on condition.

im not sure about the housings id say theird be fine as the car was sold with warranty,it normally starts on the button do you think mabe a lead or plug could be down???????????

Flooding is a direct result of too much fuel, weak spark, or weak compression. 1st thing I would do is a compression test to see how good of a job they supposedly did on the rebuild. A number of other things could also be wrong like a lack of lubrication from the OMP which will lower the compression some. Do a compression test so you can establish a base line then get back to us.

thanks for the info mate the car is being picked up by loader and taken back to the garage to be looked at will let you know what happens.
