My name is joni and i have just bought an Fd, after playing around with the mighty Charade GTti for 5 years.

Ok i'm goiing to get the car home next week as the importer is still making some paperwork on it (imported from Japan 2 weeks ago)

I have done some searches for 2 days now and i would like to get some simple answers on the oncoming small service i'm going to do.

The plan is to change the oil and the coolant. All the belts etc looked pretty good to me. I may change the plugs aswell ia i'm not sure of their age.

It seems like there is lots of talk about the oils. I have used the Valvoline VR-1 20w-50 in my charade as it's not too expensive. we have all the major brands available up here in Finland, including Motul ,Castrol, Mobil, Red Line, Valvoline...

Any suggestions? The car is pretty standard. all i have noticed is the nmazdaspeed muffler, eventho i just saw it when i tested and purchased it. as far as the importer knows, it's standard.

Also, as we never had these here as new, i need to get an oil filter for it but we don't have the actual filter numbers available, so will another filter from another mazda fit?
