New Need Advice
I'm new to the forum, new to rotarys alltogether. I just graduated ROTC for the AirForce and want to get a new toy! I've always wanted an fd since i can remeber when i first got into cars. The only thing holding me back is droping a good 20grand only to find out that i now have to send the engine off to be rebuilt. Everyone that I've known who have own'd fc's/fd's have had some sort of major problem as w/ any 15+year car is to be expected! I've heard good things about pettit racing and their rebuilds. My question is how long could i expect a newly rebuilt 13b to last? The car is putting down 460 give or take a bit on temp ect... am i better off buying a motorcycle such as a gsxr600?
if you plan to put down 460 its gonna shorten the life a lot prolly last you 80k or so thats just a guess. who knows? its all in the tune. also 460 is a lot for this car so if you never drove it you should check out the ~260 to the wheels stock

do not compare a bike to an FD.
I have a R6, faster then a gsx, and they are two different loves.
as for 460hp, are you planning on heading to the drag strip? i've been in a porch turbo that has over 450+hp. its stupit fast! Shoot for 380hp and very few will be able to catch you. with AI you can hit 380rwhp and still be reliable.
get a FD, you won't regret it if you don't mind spending money on your car.

It all depends on whats done to the car, as in supporting mods. The tune, how you treat the car, how the motors built, and maintenance. No one can give you a figure how long it will last. It could last over 100k, no one knows. There are a lot of factors that come into play here.
