Talking New Mazda engine, not a reman, video of 1st start!

I have installed one of the new Mazda engines after having it reliability modded by Pineapple Racing.

I have a YouTube video (also my first) posted here....

Thanks to Rob Golden at Pineapple and Mike Reed at Five Star Tuning for all thier help!

NOTE:

Apparently YouTube is taking HOURS and HOURS to process uploaded videos!!

If its says "This video is not yet processed." Try the again later.

DOH!

port balancing? I thought the flow imbalance comes from the lower intake manifold not the engine ports...

Sounds great. I got one of these engines as well and having PFS tear it down to balance, large street port, and atkins cryo'd seals. As well as a single turbo setup and crap cant wait to hear mine fire up too.

My car isn't the last RX-7 in the US, but it is one of them.

Built in December of 1995, and also being the last one i will probably buy before changing platforms and going to a 1968 coupe project where I will place a Corvette ZR (Something) in it from nose to tail and make it look like a stock 1968 Camaro.

That is my next big project.

Now, that isn't to say that i'm done with the 1995 RX-7.. not by a longshot.

I'm still planning to put in 99 spec turbos, 2000+ nose, tail and perhaps some black with grey bolstered Recaros.
Then, a complete repaint in black with 4+coats of clear.

I also plan for a Fujitsu ten Eclipse sound system as well.

Maybe this time next year or just after i'll be done.

I have purchased a complete powdercoating setup, and a complete electroplating setup.

I can now powdercoat anything in any finish.

I can also electroplate parts. for example I can put that semi-reflective yellow Zinc Chromate back on all the tubes, bolts, nuts and brackets. (Then I could powdercoat them CLEAR in 30 minutes)

I can nickle plate, or chrome or gold plate things.

It's getting outta hand over here!!!

Next i need a soda blaster setup... (soon to come i'm sure)

With all this, i can return these cars to the look of the day they rolled off the line, and with clear powder protecting it all? it'll stay that way.

nice man! Mine is in the shop right now and they are putting in a new motor as well.

malloy mazda sells them for $4,600 and they give you $1,000 for your core (even if its trashed). I think they have a few left.

Well, that is unknown exactly, I started doing work for Pineapple during this endeavor.

It's my understanding that engines built by PR are around 3k.

the description in the YouTube vid outlines it, but its basically upgraded oil and water seals and some porting. But only enough porting to balance out the lean/rich condition present in the stock Mazda engines.

I'm confused....

Yes the oil gauge peaked out at the top, at first..

What about the door? "clank"?

The smoke was assembly lube burning off...
