New housings??
If my FD needs a rebuid due to a failed O ring, whats the chance that I will have to replace the housings, or come to think of it any other part of the engine if it's just the O ring that failed?
I know it's best to dismantle and check myself, I would just like a heads up on what I may be in for.
After the O ring failed I didn't use the car hardly at all, there was one occassion where the stock water temp guage was as high as it would go and I turned the engine off straight away.
Thanks Guys.

You cannot estimate what needs to be replaced. The engine will need to be disassembled so each and every part can be cleaned and checked to see if they are still within tolerances. Only then can you know what can or cannot be reused.
Typically if the o-ring failed, there is damage around the jacket which exposed the ring.

I would just disassemble the engine first before giving up. You will have to buy an o ring kit regardless but if you need a new iron you can get them from rhdjapan.com for relatively inexpensive (400-something dollars US).
