New here have questions

Im getting a 93 red rx7 for 11000. It has 40,000 orginal miles on it with a new motor and new turbos. He has all the recipets from everything. The body is VERY clean and it runs great. He is a friend of mine and I dont think he would screw me over. Can I get some input and tell me if this would be a good deal? Oh ya would this car be reliable if I took care of it and left it stock?

yea thats a good deal.

and yes the car will be reliable if you take good care of it.

someone on here said once you get over 300hp then the FD wont be that reliable.

use the stickies on the top of the forum.

we need more info on the car and who did the motor and turbos?. a lot of work should have been done with the motor out and then re installed. read over the service orders and post back with what was done. this can be a great car, but work must be done right by people in the know.

40k miles seems really low for needing a rebuilt engine and new turbo's. I'd get a compression test done to be sure that engine is running okay.

That's a GREAT price though!

11k is a very good deal for a nice running condition. especially only 40k on the body. If the motor is done by a reliable source and u see it is very low milage since the receipt, then u won't need a compression test. depends on how many miles on the new motor.

if everything looks good and no oil leaks, pulls hard, drives well.... the car is worth 15 to 17k on average. FD price went up a few grand more in the last year or so.

the auto trans will hold about 325 hp if its in good condition. but don't expect it to last very long under heavy use. keep the mods down and the boost at 10 psi and I think you will be ok. check out my mods. my trans seems to be holding up fine.
