Question New guy with a question

I own 2000 Camaro SS. I am thinking of trading my SS in for a 1992 mazda rx7 R1. Can a RX7 beat a camaro SS in a race. My stock SS best run was 13.19 @ 111.7 in the quarter mile. What can a RX7 R1 run in the quarter mile stock. Thanks

uhm.. do you mean 1993 R1 ? i believe stock rx7s run low 14s stock, someone please correct me if i'm wrong. if you're looking for a drag car, i'd stick with the pistions, i'd stick with the V8. i test drove a camaro ss before i bought my 1993 rx7, i loved the way the FD felt, the handling, the looks, the camaro was too bulky and cumbersome.

Why would you want to trade in your brand new SS for an older car, that you would have to modify to get to beat an 2000 SS. IF you got beat by one, it was probably heavily or mildly moded. But not lightly, like intake, exhaust, and no ecu. stock good running FDs, run high 13's to low 14's stock. Thats if they are running good, which like more then half are not. Your better off moding what you got, then go back in time, unless you want one that bad as a project or weekend warrior. But I wouldnt recommend trading in your SS for one.
