Foam type filters have always done the worst in tests by far. I wouldn't bother with them.

which filters do you recommend? Im thinking it must be pretty good, otherwise why are they making it. because its not even out.

It isn't a new "intake"

This is just an air filter, not an intake. Foam filters (HKS) usually suck, suck dirt into your intake that is. Intake used to mean intake manifolds, now with modern cars the intake manifolds aren't common (like many V-8s) so people call a replacement for a airfilter box an intake. OK that is fine, things change, but this is just an air filter, not a intake kit.

If anyone has been running a foam filter for any extended period of time, take off your intake hoses and post a pic of the inside. There will be a lot of dirt in the inside of the hoses, this isn't a good thing. Especially in a rotary.

that "new" filter, is the same as there old ones, just a re-designed cage.
