Talking New to fourm

Whats up? Ive been a member for a couple of months now, just getting a feel of how you guys are, im happy to be a member of the RX7 community (about time) Ive been real heavy in the import scene for a couple of years, dealing with mostly hondas in all trims, but have now sold my full service shop (JDM Unlimited) to persue a career in the professional world of racing. I think a great start was buying an RX7. Im not a moron when it comes to rotary engines or the FD for that matter so you ca rest assured, but i never really got into them either.

I recently purchased a 1993 R1 rx7. The interior is in excelent shape, the paint is good, and it was hit in the front, minor damage(i.e. hood, bumper, feders, lights, bumper support core support,) but no structural damage. So far for mods I have accuired 99 tail-lights, 99 turn signals, custom turbo manifold, custom FMIC, 99 motor, trans, ecu, oem hood-fenders-and lights, TiAL blow off valve, some suspension tid bits, upgraded oil coolers, radiator i think thats it for now. I would like to get some advice on whats tried and true and some help here and there. So theres a little bit of info about who i am, and i hope that im welcomed here as much as id like to be. Ill be posting some pictures of my progress soon. i do need to find a body kit of some sort or peice one together, im not for the 'ricer image' so you know, well once again thanks...

I like drifting, ive been doing it for 3 years now, its just funny how things happen, people were like WTF are you doing, now everyone swears by it. its great for the industry though. More road racing, USTCC, NASA, the like. And a bit of drag racing, I live 20 min from the spedway, but far enough not to hear it. Ive done the whole drag racing thing, ehhhh, Cool, but to stressful to make a car run for 10-12 seconds and thats it. I love the turns, the feedback, the feel, the skill involved, of balancing between grip and style, (wait isnt that drifting) nahh not quite. One question, Who carries a really good manual for the RX7? Im almost ready to pick up a Mazda facory manual, the one thats 6 inches thick and in a binder.

Im currently working on removing everyhting under the hood completely stripped, for body prep and paint, and wiring up a M2 haltech. Im not sure what color to go with. it will be a High quality paint job like ive had previously on my cars from my painter. just dont know what color to go with? After the Paint, I will be focusing on the suspension, Bushings, Coilover system, sway bars, LCA, mounts, brakes, and rims. Im set on SSR competitions. 17 or 18, or both?

Why exactly would you want a 99 Motor unless it was rebuilt with used housings from a 99 motor??, and what custom turbo manifold? For the stock twins? What ECU? M2 doesn't make the Haltech, Haltech makes the Haltech E6K.
