New to the forum just bought 93 FD
Just introducing myself to the forum. I just bought a 93 R1 with a few reliability mods (down pipe, guages, k&n) I'm completely new to rx-7's and cars in general, as I have never driven a sports car. I plan on researching before I post anything stupid, but even some of the archives contain info that I don't understand. I just have a couple questions:
Does anyone know a good mechanic in San Diego county that knows rx-7's?
Does anyone live in North San Diego county that I could talk to and possibly look at their 7's ? I need to get my foot in the door of the rx-7 scene but have no clue how to.
THanks to all for this great forum and I look foward to any helpful responses.

Congrats on the car!
I can't help you on local stuff, but I just wanted to let you know there are also regional forums:
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/forumd...p?s=&forumid=7
You'll find some people local to you there as well.
Also, I would recommend you find a large empty parking lot. Let the car loose there and see how it reacts. It's better to loose control of the car in a large empty parking lot than on the streets. It also helps you understand how the control the car should something unexpected happen on the streets.
Good luck and welcome to the club!

Welcome to the Rotary World! Congratulations on your R1 purchase. This forum is a great tool for learning about the RX-7, and cars in general, so browse, search, and read as much as you can.
I'd pose your San Diego question in the West Forum as well as here in the 3rd Gen forum. Southern California appears to have a very large RX-7 community, so I am sure you will have no trouble finding a reputable shop, and meeting lots of knowledgable people.
Good luck, and welcome!

Check out the Western RX-7 region on this forum, as there are RX-7 car meets.
