New to the FD3s and have a few questions...

Hey peeps... this is my first post and i'd like to introduce myself first...

Well... I'm from argentina and today i bought my first FD3S.

The car came with a GReddy kit already installed which contains complete polished intake manifold with intercooler hoses, intercooler, pulleys and complete Power Extreme exhaust.
The car was also equipped with an HKS EVC IV EBC set at 10 psi.

The car was running fine (but rich)... but there seems to be a problem now, the car is runnig too rich... i have backfires for like 10 seconds or so and the fuel consumption is not normal... for the better working of the vehicle i cranked up the boost just a little bit so i can get a more even mixture, but i know that there's something wrong... not BAD... but wrong indeed.
Then after driving it around when the second turbo is about to kick in the car misfires and does not give me full boost and keeps on misfiring till redline...
I don't know what's causing this... but mechanicaly the car is 10 out of 10... it has 5800 REAL MILES.
Could it be a vaccum hose that is broken because of the fact that the car was kept in a garage for a year or two without anyone driving it...

I know it's something really stupid but you are the one who knows the real deal and will help me work this out...

Next monday i'm taking my car to an specialist in rotary engines but would like to hear from you first (since in Argentina there are only 15 RX7), what do you think this might be...?

I know the car is in perfect shape and was very well mantained by the previous owner, it has 5800 real miles on it and that's about it... the car was kept in a garage as i said before for a long time.

I'd be thankful for any input...

PETO.

ps: i have an advanced knowdelge in electronic thinggies like avc-r s-afc and others... done that myself already with previous cars like wrx, VR6, GTI 1.8 and others... but i'm new to the rotary world...

Thanks again.

How do you know the car is running rich other than backfires? Do you have an upgraded ECU? If not I wouldn't be turning the boost up on the car. How much higher did you turn up the boost? If you are using the stock ECU maybe you are hitting the fuel cut but that would result in a loss of power not missfiring. Do you have a boost gauge? I see the boost controller was set at 10 psi but what is the gauge showing at the transition bringing the second turbo online? With some info maybe someone can help.

It's definetly running rich, you can smell the unburn gas from the exhaust and if i take out my spark plugs they are wet. I can definetly tell the difference between a backfire and a car that is running rich and misfiring.
The stock fuel cut defender was disabled to turn up the boost. I didn't turn up the boost a lot more... just added 3 more psi than what was already pre-setted to make the mixture more even.
The boost gauge works fine and shows the same pressure levels as the EVC IV.

What i see is that in the transition the pressure drops and then it goes back up but the car feels slow and keeps misfiring.

Thanks for your input...

well the missfiring is weird, but all turbo rotaries are run rich. you should only expect 10-15 miles per gallon. it will baackfire after it warms up and you let off the gas or engine break.

Could be you'r coil, plug wires or plugs. as combustion chamber pressure increases, so does the amount of voltage required for the spark to jump the gap.
