Yup - the rotary is going to solve India's fuel consumption problems.

And not only that - but it is going to be reliable enough to use in airplanes.

It already is a reliable alternative for small airplanes. The service intervals far exceed those of comparable piston engines.

Though they usually lower the compression and really overbuild the engine. I don't remember what rotary aviation site i pulled them from but i found a couple of pics.

The lemans 787b hp/torque curve, the dimensions, two pictures of the vintage 4 rotor. couple more, probably reposts so i won't put 'em up here.
