New Engine, Old Gas

The car has not ran since Aug 2001, and I'm about to start up the new engine. Is the old gas okay? Should I put more in? Additives?
Thanx!

you should be fine. Drop in injector cleaner on the NEXT tank fill.

Let you car idle for awhile. Tune it. Then run it around for awhile under light loads. Then tune it....then.....you know. Then After 500miles....start using the RPMs. Do not overboost. Let the seals seat.

The gas itself should still be okay. Just make sure to NEVER let your tank run low because of all the sediments that are on the bottom.

You could take the extra step and clean your fuel tank. Go to a shop that specializes in restoring old vehicles. They can probably get your fuel tank scrubbed and cleaned for you.

How would I change that stuff with the stock ECU?
I guess I could put my PowerFC on instead, and I might just so I can use the sensor readouts.

old gas

If you are real worried you can buy a gas siphon from places like track auto for 4-5 dollars.

You should be fine. However, I would personally take a few long trips though to get that gas out of the car as soon as I could.

Dude u should have send out your injector to RC- Engineering to get cleaned and recalbrate for optium performance. I think that is why most guys on this forum is on they 3rd engine because no one never mention when u get a new engine put in also send out your injector to be clean. I glad when I did my engine I send out my injector to be cleand because one of the secondary was stuck closed, and can u imagine after the break in what can possibley happen to my new engine, WOT bang =engine=dead, because at wot u need the secondary to work as good as they get. Sorry for the long post but I just want to give u my rule of thumb. khris

Just fill it up @ the gas station after you start it. Put some gas stabilizer next time the car sits longer than a month.

Take it easy on the car since you've got old gas and new engine. You gotta break in that engine for 500 mi anyways.

yeah no boost for me for 500 miles, gunna be hard :-)
After I break it in, the secondaries will be the primaries and I have RC eng. bored 850->1200cc for the secondaries to go with my single setup.

Well not really, I don't actually have the single yet just the 1200cc injectors, TiAL BOV, Profec A, PFS IC, resonated midpipe and GReddy catback :-D
I need to sell my old engine to pay for the single.
