Talking New engine and mods - Please Help!

I have been searching for the past 3 hours...So please don't tell me about the button in the top right hand corner!

I am having a Mazda reman installed. At the same time, I am installing a Power FC+Commander, Greddy SMIC, Greddy BOV, 1300cc injectors, and Denso FP. The car already has a DP and MP.

1. Are there any reputable tuners near Louisville, KY? The shop doing the install knows stock cars well. I just think I need more experience with mods.

2. If not, what do I need to do for the first 1000 miles of break-in? You really can't do much tuning under 3000 rpms.

3. Armed with basic knowledge, can I tune this car on the road instead of on the dyno?

I am spending $$$$$$ and I don't want to screw anything up.

Specifically, what should I be worried about?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Eric

I would think just running the stock "base mod" map until the engine is broken in will be fine. You can read about break-in on www.rx7.com or call a couple of tuners. Pretty much drive it easy for the first 500 miles, no WOT, only very light boosting, change oil at 500. Then start driving it a little more aggressively until 1000. Should be pretty broken-in by then.

BTW, I would suggest once the car is broken-in, driving it up to KD Rotary in PA for tuning.

Thanks Crackers! I will check them out. Indy is only about 2 hours away.

Want2race - I am aware of what the wrong maps will do and I would never drive 3000 miles without tuning. I will turn the boost waaaay down and drive slightly rich for the first 1K to prevent potential problems. I am looking for someplace that is a little closer because of time.
