new engine....boosting backfire

right guys,,,,im getting there really slowly,,,engine rebuilt,,,and is now all up and running really nice,,,,
heres the problem...
car will accelerate as long as i dont use boost (by keeping an eye on the gauge and only squeezing the gas pedal lightly),,,,if i try to boost in any way.. the gar as soon as the gauge reaches like 1psi,,,,start to misfire and kangarooo,,,,and sometimes backfires down the exaust,,,
i know from my tiny bit of info there aint much you guys can do,,,,,but just a few ideas,,,,that i can check out will help,,,,
could it be any of the following,,,,AIR LEAK,,ANY OF THE SOLENOIDS POSSIBLY BROKE,,,,something i piped up wrong??
just ideas guys...cheers

Plugs or wrong manifold absolute pressure (meaning disconnected map sensor or similar).
