Working on new design carbon fiber UIM cover. Below are the proto type pictures. I'm reshaping it to make the lines and shape much more deeper. Please give me some opions.

Photo shown is proto type, not made in carbon fiber yet. Once final product will be in all carbon fiber. Note this will be made in dry carbon fiber like FEED UIM. Cannot get better than this!

if its possible you shold make it go down to the bolts to where and make it where it covers evary thing down there

on a side note i always wondered how bad *** it would be iif the upper and lower intake manis were made of full carbon (ie. no metal at all) it would look awsome and im sure it would save some weight too

I had an authentic FEED CF UIM cover for my FD, and I must say that while pointless, it does look very nice. And I paid over $300 for mine used, so at <$200, with what looks to be much better fitment, they should be awesome. There is also another forum member who makes these copies (Sonix7 ), which Ive also had one, I forget what he charges though.

When you tighten the nuts it would damage the c/f. You'd need some metal grommets to prevent that. I'm sure doing all of this would raise the price too much.

Yea, at $159 a set for this is a very good price. I'm sure no one want it to be any higher. BTW guys, we want to put a logo on the side. Any suggestions... This would be the sam eplace where FEED had theirs.

well its a great idea to clean up the look of the engine bay. but i must say that a "mod" like this is far down my to do list. i also have a hard time shelling out money on parts that are strictly for show. nonetheless people will buy it at that price. good luck

13b-rew or efini or something along those lines......

160 doesn't sound too bad tho, I'm curious as to how it turns out.

is the Signal one the same design as yours? looks like these too https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=560461

why dry carbon vs coated though, isn't coated easier to maintain and keep clean? durable?

no Signal one is same as one that is sold by one of forum member here. I don't even know if Signal makes it. I think he just put a sticker on it. Dry carbon are more heat resistance and durable. It has less gel inside, which won't turn yellow.
