New clutch and now the shifter has play
I made a search but nothing came up.
Blew my clutch last week and had to put in a new stock one with disc, plate and bearings.
Before my shifter was nice an tight and the pedal pretty stiff. It felt just right
I got the car back and now my clutch pedal is so soft and the shifter has a lot of play. I dont like this at all.
Any idea why this is? Did they swap my tranny? How come the shifter is so different now?
Thanks

Sorry I don't have an answer for you but can I ask why you didn't get an ACT street/strip or similar clutch? Getting an aftermarket clutch is CHEAPER than getting a stock one. Not flaming, just asking.

Got the stock clutch from Mazdatrix because I thought a stock clutch was in there before and I liked it. For my mods it is fine and it was less than the ACT.
Just dont get why the shifter feels so different now.

A new clutch shouldnt be soft. As for the shifter, I think the bushings might be going out. But I'm not sure, since your car has only got 59k miles. I'd say get a new ACT clutch and a short shifter.
