New on ClubRX - Clean your ignition switch, fix no-start problems

Hey everyone -

Since the recent hacking incident with ClubRX, I felt like I really needed to do some new content . I've been needing to clean my ignition switch for some time, so I did that this afternoon and documented it.

http://www.clubrx.org/default.asp?id...ntent=73&mnu=5

Basically, my car would take 3-4 "clicks" of the key to the Start position before the starter would actually do anything. Sometimes it was better than others, but it was pretty embarrassing. So far, so good - it's started up every time since then.

This is VERY easy to do, takes a half hour tops and you just need a little sandpaper, some cleaner, some dielectric grease, and basic tools.

Enjoy,
Dale

I bought this tool to help me get those screws out:
http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes

Its turned out to be very useful for other tight jobs also.

That tool ladies and gentlemen will give you more time to drink beer!!~~~
Without that tool first of all you won't have beer and second you won't get sleep!~~ cause you will be there... right on your RX-7 black or tan seats... for hours!!

Get that tool!!~~~

Damn....I wish I would have seen this before I brought that starter....it has to be that...after installing the used starter and cleaning all wires down there, I still got the click click.
