Which new brake rotor to buy
I was looking at the RX7Store at new brake rotors. I am leaning toward Brembo's but which one is the best. It has 3 different types. Both the slotted rotor and the cross drilled rotors are $120 a rotor, but if you get the slotted and dimple combination it is only $100 a rotor. Does anybody have any of these and how do they all match up quality wise? I know that cross drilled are prone to cracking if they get too hot but what about the dimples? Any feedback would be appreciated.
I just get a set of Hawk HP Plus pads that made a world of difference but now they make the fact that my rotors are a bit warped stick out so that is the reason for the inquiry.

I got the Brembo slotted and X-drilled on the front, and a Brembo knock off on the back. As mentioned above, bought them on eBay. My buddy has a 94 Rx-7, and he bought the set of all four on eBay last month. Front rotors come in Brembo boxes, and have Brembo stamped on them. Rear ones come in white boxes, but look just like the Brembo's. Neither of us has had any problems, I've had mine on for over a year. Of course, neither car has seen any track time, so dunno how they would hold up to that type of abuse.

yeah, you should have replaced your rotors at the same time as your pads..
but anyways, just get the blank brembos (not slotted or cross drilled), they will be the best for street driving (lots of heat cycles). Will last the longest, and will give the least pad wear.

Stock, cryogenically treated. Stock rotors have split internal veins to improve cooling and reduce weight. A non-slotted, non-drilled rotor will provide better braking unless you have brake pads which off-gas. I'll admit that the slotted, drilled look cool but plain stock is best for the stock calipers.

Something about improper bedding-in of new pads on new rotors.

What exactly does "bedding-in" do? As in what is physically happening? I just got new pads and turned rotors and I have something of a scraping noise when driving around. The mechanic said the pads need to settle in probably, and it is slowly going away, but its already been 500 miles. Is this normal? I also didn't do any special bedding-in procedures (ie high speed stops). What are the consequences of this?
performance pads such as hawk HP Plus or carbotech panthers etc etc should be broken in. Basically take hard stops from 40mph and then let them cool down. It's basically the same therory as heat cylcling R-compound tires. You should use new pads with new rotors or resurfaced ones. You need a nonwarped clean mating surface for the pads to do correct bedding. Not sure exactly what bedding does physically though

I have brembo cross drilled rotors all the way around... the quality is excellent... didn't really have a particular reason to go cross drilled, but they sure look great...

the one thing that really made a difference for me was stainless steel brake lines... the feel at the pedal is much better in my opinion

Just to let u guys know, I think they made an error on their pricing on e-bay. They have two auctions going on 1 at $230 and the other at $130 and the quantity says 5. I don't know if they will sell them for $130 though.
Stock Upgrade from RX7 Store
I just got the stock upgrade from RX7 Store (SS Brake lines, HPS Pads, and the brembo dimpled/slotted rotors) I'm gonna have em on in the next week. I'll let you all know how big a difference there is.

I have slotted/dimpled EBC rotors. And I wish I didn't have them. They cause more dusting, make strange noises when braking, I'm sure they have more material on them (heavier), and I'm just waiting for them to crack or warp.
I am under the impression that you need to use "seasoned" pads to "season" a rotor and vice versa. You should neve change pads and rotors at the same time or your rotors will be prone to warp, and your pads will fill with metal from your not so hard new rotos and reduce stopping power. Now I am no purest and take this advice with a grain of salt, but I always try to install new pads or rotos, before I need them to brake them in, and then keep them around until I need them.

I heard that you should stay away from the cross drilled slot rotors on ebay...that they are drilled after the fact vs. the real brembo method of casting the rotors with the holes in the mold before they are forged....this prevents the rotors from becoming weak under extreme braking...
