Question new to the board

hi guys new to the board and got a few questions. tried search but it seems my problems are unique. just got my 94 rx7 and its great except for some minor probs. when the car is warm, or after a recent shut off, the car takes about 3-6 seconds to actually turn over. the plugs were done just before i bought the car. other problem is that i turned the car off last night and i pulled the key out and i heard something still running under the hood. i dont know what it is....sounds like the motor...but it couldnt be.. could it??? is it the fans?? can someone help me out. all comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Welcome to the money pit....

Probably the fans. There is a common mod that is very cheap and all it has to do with is keeping the fans on for a little while after shut down.

WELCOME!

Good job of stating that you took the time to do a search first, the vets hate when new members don't try find their answer there first.
spinnseven is probably right, the previous owner must have done a fan mod to keep it on after the ignition is turned off.
As far as your other problem, do you mean that the starter is turning but it is hard to start or that the starter does not turn for 3-6 sec. after you turn the key?

Pop the hood and then you can tell if the motor is on. Or put your head at the exhaust. It probably was the fans though.

How many miles are on the motor. Sounds like very very very low compression to me. It could also be leaky injectors but I would get a compression test done first before messing with those. Maybe you can get a sound clip for us of it starting up after being warm.

good luck
