the needle on my tach is on wrong, i need to calibrate it...
ok, long story short:
the guy i bought my car from had recently changed out the old stock tach for a new stock tach. when he put the needle on the new tach, he put it on in the wrong position. I am 99% sure that the tach is fine, just the needle is on wrong. it seems to be set about 1000-800 rpm too high, based on when i feel the second turbo hit, and also a little 3000rpm hesitation. (on the tach, it reads around 4000 when i feel the hesitation, and 5500 or so when the 2nd turbo hits)
so i need to fix it, and here is what i thought i could do. someone please tell me if this would work, or if there is a better way:
i had planned on going to pepboys and buying one of those ricer-tachs and then tapping it into the line for my stock tach so that both tach's would be working. then i would have an accurate reading with the ricer-tach and could then adjust the needle on my stock tach to match. then i can take out the ricer-tach, and return it to pepboys for a full refund.
any ideas? thanks guys...

My tach is reading wrong also. I had pulled the needles off to replace the gauge faces and when I put the needles back on there was no power to the gauges so the needle wasnt really starting at 0. I just got a Power FC and that tells me what the RPMs are so I will be adjusting my tach tomorrow...
