Need your opinions on R1 front spoiler ordering

hey guys Ive been trying to find an R1 front spoiler for my car. It seems they go for more than the spec ones.

anyhow i found this
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=4&catalogid=2

take a look and tell me if im seeing things. according to the diagram part number 3 is both pieces of the r1 spoiler isnt it?

if yes why is it 92 dollars for both and 102 for individual pieces?

Have I found some typo? Can I really order the entire set for 92 dollas? is this NOT the r1 spoiler???

your opinion on the diagram is greatly appreciated

Thanks
David

Those prices don't make any sense considering wholesale would be about $170 for the pair. You can by them individually "if" you only need one side. You will need to get a voice confirmation on whether they are aftermarket or geniuine OEM and how much of a surchage on top of the shipping. Mazdaformance charges an extra $20 on top of the $10.

Spec ones? what is a spec one? USDM Japanese cars are JSPEC. Maybe you mean JDM.

Maybe it's just referring to the top lip. The top lip is the 1" plastic piece that came with base/tourings. The lower one is the R1 lip.

???

I just checked out the site. The parts are under a collision catagory which would mean used.

sorry im newb i meant they seem to be more expensive than the 99 front spoiler. at any rate the price seems too good to be true right?

i placed an order and hope it goes through. The parts are from seacoast mazda so I figure they are actual mazda parts.

Whoa whoa whoa
Ive had a few email exchanges with this company and it appears I might be getting the R1 lip for 130 shipped. The order was cancelled because the shipping cost exceeded what was originally quoted to me. All I had to do was approve the new cost. Part is on its way.

Then I started noticing sellers in the classified section here that have 5 or 6 sets selling them for 170 shipped. makes you wonder why they would order that many if theyre going to just turn around and sell them at a loss.

Could it be that they are getting them for this price and making a profit off of members?
I know Im a newbie to this board but Im no newbie to forums and this makes me rather sad if true.

So guys if youre considering buying an R1 lip in the near future WAIT a few days. Once I get my invoice and part and can verify that I am getting a new genuine mazda part for $130.00 shipped I will post back here.

Im not trying to stir any **** on this board. just trying to pass on a good deal if it truly does exist.

Almost everyone, selling anything, is trying to get as much as they can for the item. If that makes you sad, you are going to have a long sad life. Thats business, get used to it.

HUZZAH!!!
I recieved my package today via UPS.
Contents

1 quantity FD03-51-9H0 Front airdam

brand new genuine mazda part from Seacoast Mazda (www.mazdapartscheap.com)

r1 front spoiler $91.40
shipping $20.00
TOTAL: $111.40

Again I dont know if this is a typo. I even went as far as emailing the parts guy at seacoast mazda to see if this is the correct price and he never responded. The fact that I was able to purchase this part at this price and the website is still stating the same price leads me to believe this will remain the price.

now to address the "sad" remark....
I cant be the first guy to have gotten this part for this low price....and yeah it might be fine that members are buying them for $111.40 and selling them to other members for $160 plus shipping but I think it sucks that you guys cant pass on great deals and would rather make a profit off of your forum buddies.

That should be $91.40/per side. I paid $168.00 with a Mazda Employee discount (no, I don't work there). Mazdaformance charges $30 for shipping but Malloy is usually free. Either they are selling overstock they bought wholesale auction or they have no idea they are selling buy one get one free at a loss (D'oh). lol

If someone wants to make a few bucks by selling R1 lips, I think thats great. He is providing a product that people want, at a price that is lower than they would normally pay. Everyone is a winner .............. except you because you are so sad

You should also be sad about taking advantage of the poor Mazda dealer that sent you that part in error for that price. Poor poor Mazda dealer. Maybe you should send them another $60 or $70 to clear your conscience.

ive emailed the parts guy asking if there was an error in the advertised price. I admitted that their price seems much too low to be true. not once but twice. I think its fair to say that im in no way taking advantage of them.

if i were to keep my mouth shut and order ten of these and turn em around on members I think that would be taking advantage. no problem though...differing views are fine with me...im just trying to pass on a deal.

thanks

David,

Everyone here is always looking for a good deal on parts. Finding the lowest price is always helpful. I'm sure that there are many people, including myself, who are gratefull to you for providing the link. I just don't think you should criticize the other guy for what he did. My 2 cents

BTW, my new R1 lip should be here in a week. Thanks

yeah understood....its no big deal to me. I come from a smaller motorcycle forum where everyone knows everyone so I might be biased. That and I almost bought the spoiler from the classifieds before I found this deal and I woulda paid 50 bucks more. god knows ive spent way too much money on the car since I purchased it a few weeks back

Well my order for 2 was just cancelled today, due to 'excessive delay' since more need to come from Japan. He said 24 were ordered this week, and something about a website and people rushing it at the low price (I just smiled to myself).

What's interesting is that Ray at Malloy had access to 2, now spoken for and up till now he wasn't aware the lip existed as an assembly and for much less money. He was pretty shocked. The part number is FD03-51-9H0. Sure enough, it's right there in the parts fiche (group 7800). I'm not sure how nobody noticed this before.

I think now all of the R1 lips not at dealerships are now spoken for, so there will be a 4week+ lead time for additional from Japan. But this price is legitimate - so we should see a lot less beaten R1 lips around here.

Dave

Same here I ordered 1 and just got cancelled today. Same 4 week lead time. I wonder if they are gonna notify us when they get them since the order was cancelled they could change the price right.

Using that part number (FD03-51-9H0), I just ordered a lip spoiler from my parts guy for $92 (list was $130, but I get a nice discount there). Anyone should be able to get one at any Mazda dealer for the $130 list price.

Thanks for the heads up! My R1 lip is due to arrive next wed/thurs! wOOt!!
