ok so i get to work to day and the cars great havent had an issue in months. after a long tring day of dealing with a different pain in the a$$ car im ready to jump in the fd and cruise home.....or so i thought. get in and start it up and she sounds funny kind of like it was loading up. then it died. so i tried to start her but it just flooded it self. pushed it in to the shop, i pulled the plugs did the de flood routine. put it back together and it fires up but still sounds funny like it wasnt firing all the plugs. went through made sure i didnt goof put it back together again and nothing. wont fired. checked for spark and well i have none. i doubt i would have lost all the coils at once or taht the pfc has gon bad so im thinking either ignitor, cas wiring or cas. however since iluvmyrx7.com doesnt exsist anymore im kinda stuck on test procedures. just to clarify ive check continuity on all the wires between the ignitor and the coils because i had that issue once and its fine. also if anyone has a good way to check for spark on an fd other than the old stick the plug to ground and zap youself trick let me know.

also i was lookin into fc coils and since my buddy has a few he said hed give me a set cheap. i was wondering what the process for that is. since the fc ingintors are built on to the coils.

 

Leaky injector, bad ignition component, wrong plug wire arrangement, bad map sensor, blown engine. Could be anything.

I had a similar experience as you and I replaced the ignition components one-by-one, and it turned out to be injectors.

It IS odd that it was running fine and then what...8 hours later it isn't? It sounds like it WAS indeed flooded, though that was not entirely clear in the post. So, if that was the case what could cause that, what could have changed in such a short period of time? Isn't there some way on the PFC to check injector cycle/duration and all that? Could an injector have just completely lost it or is stuck wide open? I mean, imluvint is jumping from fuel issues to ignition issues in a sort of haphazard way. Either of which demands specific testing procedures to eliminate potential causes. Is it the lack of ignition that is causing the flooding?
In other words, does he have one or two (or more) problems?

 

thats kinda where im at im not sure. i think its an ignition issue as ive been fighting those from day one and the fact that i have no spark is a concern to me. im going to check the cas, cas wiring, coils, and coil wiring today.


compression on the engine is good we check that this morining. i dont drive it hard believe it not. the fuel pump is working. i have good pressure at the rail. the injectors are brand new but i know that doesnt mean they arent the issue.
