Need some help, startup issue

Hey guys,
The FD has been in the shop for two weeks now. Had a problem with the car stumbling and dying at low speed, seemed like an electrical problem. Did it a final time before it wouldn't start back up when I was going to see a girl. Had it towed to a local shop, guy is a very good mechanic but has very limited knowledge with rotaries. Anyways, the car tries to start, is getting excellent spark and is getting fuel, but just won't get running. It will keep turning over but won't catch enough to start up. I bought the service manual to give him some help but he's still not having much luck. Any ideas on what's happening? The turbos are shot, so possibly not getting any air to mix with the fuel? the turbos leak oil pretty bad so maybe that is a problem? Anyways sorry for the long post guys, just really need some help because I'm sure my bill is stacking up rapidly. Thanks
Jeff

well you need 3 things for an engine to work, compression, spark and fuel.. you said you have fuel and spark but what about the compression? have you checked that? how many miles are on the engine?

and how are you checking for spark?

the same incident happened to my friend and one of his coils were not firing..

checking spark by cranking the engine with a screwdriver near the plug and compression is on the high end within stock specs. so thats not it. 25k miles after fresh rebuild.
