Angry need R1 type spoiler

Does anyone know of a source for the R1 type spoiler, other than Mazda or Mazdatrix? While my FD was at Roberts Mazda in Hickory, NC for A/C service, the spoiler "fell off" (their explanation). Right. All eight mounting points were ripped out of the spoiler, leaving the screws still in the rear hatch lid. If I can't get the bastards to make good on replacing the spoiler, I will need to get a replacement. Mazdatrix is $274, dealer retail is probably about $400. To complete the end of my perfect day, they did not properly fix the A/C and I got a citation from the friendly NC Highway Patrol on the way home.

Get the spoiler in pieces, not the whole assembly. It is about $220 retail from Mazda this way. You may be able to negotiate 10+% off with the parts department to get it cheaper. Other than that, the cheapest way is to belong to MazdaMotorSports or get it used.

I just bought one from www.spoilerdirect.com. It may be www.spoilersdirect.com. It was $145 SHIPPING INCLUDED. My friend has the R1, and the two are EXACTLY the same--mold and material. -BN

Unless his front bumper has a rear hatch then i think he is talking about a rear spoiler!!!!

Spoilers do not "fall off". If that was so, ask them to explain to you how you were able to drive the car to the dealership w/ the spoiler not attached to the car? They broke it and they know it.

there should only be four mounting holes.

but anyway i agree that spoilers dont just FALL off like that. Take their asses to court if you have to!

There's really no excuse for them not taking responsibility for it. If you got the car there with the spoiler on, it *has* to be their fault. Talk to the manager/owner of the shop and explain nicely that you just want to get it fixed and not be a pain in the ***. If they still refuse, I'd seriously think about taking them to small claims court for it, if for nothing else than to prove a point.

It's disappointing to see all of the shops out there that are so dishonest and are willing to lie through their teeth just to save some face. Talk about losing respect for them!

There are 8 mounting holes, and take them to court or tell the BBB that things bolted down just fall off while in their shop. Also spread the news to everyone so they avoid that shop and drive them out of business.

Open a shop right next to them with a big sign saying "stuff doesn not fall off of your car at my shop, unlike my neighbors" then run them out of business with inrdibly low prices and good service.

but for real though, you shouldn't have to pay for it. Spoilers don't just fall off, especailly when they have 8 mounting points.

Ok, I can't read. The rear spoiler from Mazda is very expensive. I do think there are aftermarket copies for $200 or so (JC Whitney Import catalog lists one). Problem is that they are heavier than stock. But the price is right. I can't see how it would fall off unless it were already very loose.
