I agree. Call them up and see what they can do for you, 817 788 8726.

I can tell ya that it's a pain in the *** finding the proper belt by trial and error. I have memories of driving to numerous parts stores staffed by unhelpful morons and buying about 7 belts in order to find one that barely fit.......

It's also a rare belt size - you'll be VERY lucky if you find it at your local parts store.

Easy with the F bomb there Tiger. The kit we are all talking about is an alternator pulley and a water pump pulley that are sized to underdrive the aforementioned accessories while deleting the airpump, thus a different belt is needed. How exactly did you go about ordering it from advance? You can't just walk up and ask them to punch it in their system . Also, did you get the proper 5 rib belt or a 4 rib one?

I guess I have to give the auto stores a hard time to find the right size and teeth to fit the pulleys. Can any one help me out if they know the size or number of the belt? I would buy buy it for 35 shipped but nearly $50 is not right.

I thought I had seen this discussed. Don't you just get a 5 rib belt and specify the length? I hope that is right because I just ordered one from NAPA and it is due in today.

If Napa will do that for you then you are in luck. All the parts stores I went to were staffed by teenagers with the IQ of a houseplant who told me 'we can't find the belts that way. the computer won't let us.'

Again, call up the shop. It may be a mistake on the site, that seems pretty high. Talk to Alex, he'll take care of you.

Actually the local Napa shop has been great helping me with odd fasteners, electrical and the odd hose. The guys tell me more than 1/2 of what they sell is not on the store system. This is certainly NOT true for Pep Boys or Discount Auto; if is is not listed they don't carry it, until you find it on the shelf yourself.

The Napa belt I ordered was 29 5/8". I have the Unorthodox alt, ps and wp pulleys. With the stock pulley this belt is too short. Need a minimum of 30 3/8" by my measurement. Using the Unorthodox main pulley the 29 5/8" should be OK if my math is correct. Unorthodox main is 3/4" less in diameter and using the formula for circumference of 2 pie R you should need a belt 1.17" less for the stock pulley. Problem is I was going to wait on putting in the main pulley (due to fear of screwing it up) until I was installing the RB flywheel; phase 3 of this project.

According to Pettit's site, the belt for these pulleys without the air pump is Dayco part number 5050310 or metric number 5PK0785 (www.pettitracing.com under Performance)

Not to take money from Gotham, but Napa can order this belt or it is available at www.planetautoparts.com for $8.28 + shipping.

Which pulleys do you have? Unorthodox underdrives the alt and wp but not ps and of course the main is 3/4" less in diameter. I don't know that the other aftermarket pulleys do. What is the length of the belt you purchased?

The guys at my local Advance Auto were idiots when I asked for 5050310 so I had to call Dayco to get Advance's actual SKU# for that belt ... 19270177

I got mine for $13.97 + tax. There's an Advance Auto nearly everywhere so it's local pick-up and no extra cost for shipping.
