Talking Need price estimates for my 94 RX-7 please.

Hi,

Could you guys give me an estimate for how much I can get for my 1994 RX-7? I want to sell it, but if it's going to sell for only a little bit, I might as well keep it. Here are the details.

Only 1 owner, purchased new, non-smoker
1994 Mazda RX-7
Montego Blue
43,000 miles
R1 Red tower bar
R1 lip
Greddy blow off valve
Racing Beat spoiler
RE Amemiya rear light cover
RE Amemiya 17" Rims
Potenza S0-2 Tires/Fairly New
Stereo System:
Mcintosh MC431M/2 meters amplifier 100x4w
Rockford Fosgate 1000a2 amplifier 1000w(I think)
6 Dynaudio tweeters/4 Dynaudio Coaxials
2 Rockford Fosgate 12" Power DVC's
Pioneer double din head unit
Pioneer 12 disc mounted in rear storage cabinet
Everything in custom enclosure in trunk with Mcinosh amplifier
displayed under glass, woofer grills, all panels in matching vinyl

Car in Good/Great but not Excellent condition.

Let me know what your appraisals are for a car like this. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. Thanks guys.

Ed

I'm an expert in pricing. I believe it's worth 15k. But if the car's exterior and mechanical conditions are excellent, it might be more than that. I assume you don't have any reliability mods.

edmo7,

you can definitely get more than 15k for it if you live in california. it sounds like an ideal rx-7 someone would want to buy minus the stereo . relatively stock, 1 owner, 94 model, good condition, low miles...all positive signs serious smart buyers will look for. if you're in california i'd as for 18-19 and go from there. other areas will be a little bit lower especially where it snows a lot, the midwest, and florida. don't let it go for cheap. i'm sure the kbb lists it for more than 15k.

good luck

What are your credentials again slash?

I'm NOT an expert, but I think you should ask $18 - $19k. That's fairly close to dealer retail for KBB, but consider this: Can you even find one at a dealer? I can't here in Austin. The mileage is nice, but if it's the original engine, that would give me cause for concern for the future. The stereo sounds nice, but it typically doesn't add value to the car unless a particular buyer is specifically interested in that item. Same thing with aftermarket wheels. I would never add value to a vehicle for aftermarket wheels unless they were exactly the style and size I wanted. And even then I wouldn't add much because you gotta have wheels on a car to sell it.

Sales prices are subjective valuations made by individuals with their own unique preferences, biases, preconceptions, etc. In the end it just comes down to finding someone who agrees with your valuation of the car, you agreeing with their valuation, or some compromise in between.

Angry try kbb.com

Fully loaded reatil is $18k+ (just went down $2k from last mo)
You can add more for R2 (which has dual oil coolers), Touring, black interior, reliability mods and service receipts.

Ca is overpriced and I went as far as Georgia looking for one. I almost bought a stock white/black touring for $23.5k and wish I did since it only had 19k miles on it.

The one in Georgia was a better deal than the one I got but it had tan interior and steel sunroof and I wanted black with glass, so I paid up the ying yang.

I think you should have no problem getting at least $18k-$19k for it, especially in California. I would not let it go for any less than $18k. When I was looking for cars 6 months ago, I would have easily payed $18k for it.

Hey Slash maybe you should lay off the self pronounced "Expert" and "you're wrong" replies until you actually get an RX-7. Sounds like 18 to 19 K to me. Remember 94's are worth a little more.

By the way, how old are you?

Don't know much about the stereo but I would say you would get around $17.5 to 18 in the Northeast.

Looks like quality audio components... location is a big factor in price though so it really depends where the car is at.

His car is just a montego blue touring. Not a base or R, which is worth more. Plus, he said the car's in good condition, so I expect some dings and scratches. $18-19k is way too much. And it's got no reliability mods, not even a downpipe! Let me know if you'd like to pay $18-19k for his car.
