I use a thin funnel. paper towels and a small 16 oz bottle that they sell 2-stroke oil in that has markings on the side. I just refill the botttle once it's empty. I keep all supplies in the compartment behind the driver so it's always there.. It has saved a few of my friends as well since they know I always carry it.

I use these + protek R. I've got 10 bottles and I fill them all at once with a funnel from the 1 gal jug.

I use the 4 oz bottles (amt recommended by pettit) so when I fill up I just twist the cap off and squeeze, then fill will gasoline. No mess and I don't have to guess measuring.

I use a funnel with a tube attached to it that I got from a gas station. The funnel has measuring lines on the side, and there is a twist lock where the hose connects. So I just close off the bottom, fill to 4oz., stick the hose into the gas tank and open the bottom. I'll typically run 1/2-1 gallon of gas through the funnel/hose afterwards to ensure I'm not missing any.
The remaining gas evaporates from the funnel/hose as I fill the car the rest of the way up.
And yeah, I always let the tank run to just above empty, and fill completely, so adding pre-mix (idemitsu all the way!) first doesn't affect the measurement.

I use a Mobil 1 bottle with graduations on it *shrugs* no funnel is required, the oil will find it's way through the metal flapper just fine....1/2 oz/gal Amsoil Interceptor for about 5 years now and engine is tip-top

this is what I use. It's great; has measurements on the side, locks to shut flow while filling, and a top to contain everything.

Run a search or two for the benefits of pre mixing

Just for the record... are you guys basically asking how you open the metal flap to pour in the premix?
The answer is: You don't need that flap open for the premix to make it to the gas tank. There are 'drain' holes in the filler neck that feed into the tank. If you pour you premix in after filling and the metal flap is closed, no problem.
For the record I use Pettit Protek-R - http://pettitracing.com/faq/faq_protek-r.htm

My premix...
I premix when fueling up at Sunoco. I use Redline 2-cycle racing oil, which I get from JEGS. I do not have a OMP so I mix in 1oz. per gallon min.. I carry 2-6oz. bottles and 2-4oz. bottles in a clean plastic drain pan along w/a funnel that I attached a custom sized spout made from heavy duty shrink tubing. This works just fine for me since I only drive my car 2-3 thousand miles a year. However, I seem to have to get gas alot. Bottles w/a see-thru graduated sight are best. I never let my fuel guage go below 1/4 tank. I dont think thats a good idea, especially if you have an R1 or FD w/stiff suspension.
I love not having the OMP, its a crisp clean rotary machine....
