Is this unit as good as the Jacobs rotary pro-pack?
For those of you running it, how do you like it? Please be detailed in your response...
Thanks guys--

I had one, well i still have it, but its sitting in a box in my garage. I had it on my original engine but after it blew a couple of people told me to just run the stock ignition. I've thought about putting it back on, but i'm not sure yet. The worst part of installing one of these is cutting up the ignition harness, as theres not much wiring to play with. Too bad no one sells the stock connectors to make it a plug n' play type thing.
I know this wasnt the feedback you were looking for, but at least i bumped this thread to the top for you

I had one on my car for about 1.5yrs. Not sure if it was mind over matter or if the engine did feel a little peppier. Anyway, suddenly one day the car felt as if all the plugs weren't firing. After a lot of checking & not finding anything wrong, I decided to disconnect the Hi6. Well, that did it, all was back to normal. Don't know if they're all this unreliable or I just got a dud. Well, that was just my personal experience.
I have a brand new B&M New Volt yet to be installed.

It really helps... A few more HP is always nice... probally about 10 hp. Just better throdle response. I never tried the Jacobs but it's probally good as well.
Also having a Crane hi-6 helps keep the leading plugs clean too.
best wishes... jack

Supposedly the high current shortens plug life too. A friend had a plug break on him some time after installing his Hi-6. Took out all three seals on that rotor.....
Why do you need a Hi-6? Does the car hesitate at high rpm? You may want to take a look at the HKS twinpower instead - supposed to be a lot easier on the plugs.
Good luck.

The HKS is also a direct plug in. No cutting no nada. Just plug in the included harness, and you are set to go.
I've heard many times the crane actually blows out the ignition coils. Personally, I'm gonna go with the HKS. I haven't heard not even one bad thing about it, and its been dyno proven to give you 10+hp

One thing to consider, the crane only fires the leading plugs. The HKS twin ignition fires both the leading and trailing. I did a before and after dyno run with the hks unit, added 8 peak hp. Part throttle toe-ins of the accelerator felt more responsive as well.
