That's called a Wangan Gate... not sure why they named it that. Wangan is a highway in Japan that a lot of people race on right? I don't really see it improving aerodynamics

it's for people who absolutely insist on having sex inside a 3rd Gen

If you knew about the type of taxes they had to pay on that little island for each car a person owns, then you would understand.........

"Wangan" is the term for highway racing, 130-180 mph racing ... not a specific highway, Mike.

At those speeds, it's pretty easy to see how it improves stability aerodynamically. Look how it's tapered at the end. Now look at how a plane with is shaped (cross-section) where it's thicker in front, tapered in the back ... or look at those funny looking solar cars or alternative engery racers that go like 30 mph top speed -- they all tend to have that long tapered design for least air resistence. So basically what this does is keeps the air from whipping around the canopy and whirling behind it; instead it has a smooth transition over and around it.

This is about as bad....around town here, there is a new style Camaro that has something Very similar done to it. It looks like they just took a truck topper and molded it into the back. It's just.....wrong. I carry my digital camera around all the time hoping to get a pic of it, but I havent seen it recently (which is good or bad depending on how you look at it).

Calm down guys ... sheesh. It's just an aftermarket hatch -- it's not like they did it themselves. Non Fujita put one on the FD he built here in the States years and years ago.

At last! The SUVication of the FD3S! Now if it only had 4X4, It would be one BMF! I'd like to be buried in one.
