Cool Need a little help

Hey everyone need a little help in knowing whats up. Tonight I took the car out and drove it around, let it warm up and everything and then pushed it into second and hit boost and then around 4500 it started to make a motion where it just kept jolting back and forth like I kept letting my foot off the gas and putting it back down again. It's going to Cam at Pettit this friday but someone please let me know whats up with it so I can have a heads up. How much is it going to cost to fix it or replace it and what it is.

Hey, Sounds to me like your Spark plugs need to be replaced. Would you describe it as "sputtering"

not really. It's just more like the car increases in rpm slowly but it jolts back and forth back and forth. Then in the higher gears I tried it it's fine. Mainly second and third have the problem. The thing is though also that I dont have the Protek-R until friday, and she barely ever does this jolting. Only on rare occasions mostly.

I do kind of think its the spark plugs though also.

I would suggest posting what mods you have, and what your boosting at: you have a boost gauge right?

A gutted cat.. do you have a DP as well? How about aftermarket cat back? Aftermarket intake? These upgrades increase airflow substantially beyond what the stock ecu + stock fuel system can handle, ie. overboosting (ie. more air + same amount of fuel = too lean) which can lead to a blown motor!

Sounds like it could be having fuel cut off due to stock ecu + stock fuel system can't handle boost going to high..

I would suggest getting a boost controller (gauge should already be hooked up) and make sure your not boosting over 12psi.

do a search for :

"overboosting"
"boost controller"

you will find allot to keep you busy at work! have fun!

Hey yeah I think I did find out whats wrong with the car though, and you're right. It doesn't happen all the time just on occasion after the car has been warmed up a bit. Anyways I talked to Pettit Racing today and they said its most likely one of the valves. Can't think of the name of it right now but they said it's an easy fix. pm me and I'll let you know once I do. I'm going down to Pettit tomorrow morning
