Need info on 94 RX7 Twin Turbo Touring?
I about to pruchase a 94 Wt RX7 twin turbo w/ 112,000 mi on it, it's a touring, and here's my question. How miles can a stock rotary engine last? What's the most bang for buck turbo kit out there?
thanks

Most 93-95 FD motors don't seem to last more than about 80K miles as an AVERAGE. I've seen them go with 38K miles to still running at 149K miles.
Either way with 112K miles the engine is about due or replacement OR has been replaced already.
Best "bang for the buck" turbo kit? Do some research, the stock turbos are EASILY good for deep into the 12's, some guys push them really hard and run low 11's with them. Before you look for the best turbos decide what your final goal is and then do some research in that area.

Sorry yah But I'm new
What I really mean is that which kit can get me into the 11 sec without nos? Does anybody know the max hp for the motor? I would like to see 600-700 hp if possible. I also want to beat Vett and exotic cars really bad in top end.
But thanks agian

I've seen FD's with more than 100k on the original engine. The one I looked at was mostly freeway driven although that can't be proven. Chances are high for a engine rebuild just as it would be for a timing belt on a pisston engine. Unfortunately on a rotary, you can't just take off the valve cover to replace the apex seals.
You don't need 600-700hp to beat a Vette. You can do it with 300-400hp. An FD is lighter than a Z06 Vette which means it needs less HP to be faster.
You need to start doing some reasearch. Knowlege is a good thing and will save you money.

If that engine hasn't been rebuilt (maybe the mileage is on the chassis) then you need to look into a good rebuilt engine ($2100-5000, R&R is around $900) instead of a good turbo kit. To get a kit that would run 11's with no problem first you need to upgrade the week spots (making the car capable of handling the horses). Radiator ($400), intercooler ($1000-$1400), aluminum air separation tank ($150) exhaust system full-cat ($1000), engine management computer ($700-$1300), silicon vacuum lines ($70-$100), boost controller ($300-$500), larger secondary injectors, maybe 1300cc ($350), high flow fuel pump ($250), clutch flywheel assembly ($900), and a few other odds and ends you might want, i.e. gauges. Then for your single turbo kit ($3500-4500).
Ballpark figure is $10,000-11,000 (that is the lowest possible price scenario)
So asking that question becomes a complicated issue and if you have the money to spend on all of it, cool. If you don't I would suggest you go to this site.
www.thisthingisgonnablowin3months.com (I don’t take credit for that site, I stole the idea)
If you want to just slap a single on there your engine won't last but for enough time to lean out and detonate or until you overheat and blow your coolant seals.
BTW. You better be getting a good deal on that car for so much mileage.
