need imediate advice on ps pump..

hi guys,
i have a day off and the alternator out for replacement, and my p.s. pump squeals badly because it is bum.

i need to know if i can just run a belt from my main drive to my ac compressor. i would like to know if anybody has done this or some educated speculation on problems i would have with this set up.

i do realize that there is some kind of kit to eliminate the ps pump, but i am not going that route.

thanks for any help,
rajeev

The squealing can be low fluid or bad belt, but if u checked than its probably the pump.
I am pretty sure u can run with out pwr strng for a while, just measure how long of a belt u need. I was poor when I had my first FD, and had to run with out a pump for a couple months.
