Question Need help troubleshooting fluttering issue. Possible blown seal? (Video)

I'm having trouble seeing where the problem is. I'm starting to suspect that it's not making compression and a seal is broken.

Some cold starts it struggles. (first clip) It flutters and starts popping and I have to rev the engine so it feels normal again. Some cold starts are fine (last clip).
This sometimes happens after driving it, car is warm, and then started again after an hour (night part of the video).

Here's a video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L2z...ew?usp=sharing

If you have any insight on what the issue could be, please help. Car is stock for the most part other than catback and mid pipe.

motor sounds fine. what it seems like is its running super rich. this is normally the case when the water temp or air temp sensor stops working which is more common than people realize. wouldnt hurt to do a compression test anyway. alternatively you can check fuel pressure and injectors. the smoke leads me more to believe its a rich issue. i would start with air and water temp sensor troubleshooting.

Stock ECU. I haven't change the plugs/wires after a year of ownership. All i've done is an oil change, trans oil, and check on coolant.

Before going any further, do a compression test. It's probably not that but it's good to rule that out. You don't need a fancy compression tester, you can do a "poor man's" test with a piston tester. If you see even compression pulses on each rotor you are good.

Besides that it sounds like really worn or fouled plugs or a very minor coolant seal leak. Does your car use any coolant?

It's a good idea to go ahead and change plugs when doing the compression test since you will be in there.
