Exclamation Need Help Starting My Car

The other day when I pulled into my garage, the hose coming off my AST got into my pulleys and caused my fluid to spew out. I turned the car off immediately, the temperature went no hotter than normal.

The next day I replaced the torn hose and went to crank the car and it wouldn't crank. I tried to the point of flooding the car. I checked the plugs and they were fouled. I changed the plugs and tried to crank it again and it still wouldn't crank.

I put a little automatic transmission fluid (approx. 2 ounces) into a vacuum nipple on the intake plentum and sprayed a little starter fluid into the intake. The car fired right up. I drove it around (about 60 miles) and it ran fine, idled fine, and boosted fine.

I took the car home and the next day I changed the plugs again before trying to crank it. It wasn't flooded now and had good plugs. It still wouldn't crank.

I checked to see if I was getting fire from the coils and they are firing fine. I also checked all the values in my Power FC and no changes occured there either.

I can not figure out why the car won't crank. Once it is cranked (through inducing all that mess mentioned above) it'll run fine.

Any idea on what to check next? Anyone ever experienced this?

I NEED HELP !!!

Thanks.

how old is your engine? after some serious cranking, check your sparkplugs again and see if they are flooded. if they are, you should do a compression test... don't know where you can do one, i used an expensive *** rotary specific compression tester from mazda for mine. as long as you get about 6.5+ it should start. mind you that anything under 7 is under oem spec for compression, though.

edit: i just read your sig about your new engine on 4/2. you should still have it compression tested though, as it may still be a bad rebuild or something. i'm assuming its a lack of compression because of the fact that you are saying that it fires up when atf is added.

Listened to it, sounded weak, more like a *girgle* trather han a pump priming the lines.

I borrowed a pump from my friend's 7 and it did fine.
