Need help on Pettit Flywheel!!

Ok, I bought a 8.5lb Pettit Flywheel a few years back. I am in the middle of installing a new clutch and need to replace the friction surface but Pettit says they do not have it any more and it was custom made! They gave me the idea that I needed to buy a new flywheel. I do not want to buy a new flywheel. Anyone have an idea? This really pisses me off since i paid $500 for it and they still have it listed for sale on there sight!!!!!! Selling a product and not providing service for it!! I am waiting on a call back from Jeff to see if they can do anything about this.

Well, that's the problem with many aftermarket parts - finding repair parts down the road is often times tricky.

Jeff will do what he can to take care of you. But, that's just the problem you face modding your car sometimes - mods do wear out.

I have no problem replacing items that wear out, thats just what I was trying to do.. But if you are offering a 2 piece flywheel with part of your sales pitch being you can just replace the center section then I feel you should offer down the road.. I just believe you should service what you sale. I do not want to take this too far yet as Jeff may come through for me... I guess the biggest thing that sucks is I was trying to decide between the excedy single and the SPEC III. I went with the SPEC because I wanted to keep my 8.5 flywheel but I feel the excedy might be a better clutch but it came with a new flywheel....
