Need help diagnosing grind/rattle

I did a search on various rattles and grinds but none of them seem to sound like mine. The closest one I found was the TCA actuator rattling during low rpm acceleration. The similarity to my problem is that mine occurs only during low rpm light acceleration between 1k-2k rpm. I'm not sure if it would occur if I went WOT as I wouldn't be able to hear it. On the street I like to shift at 2.5k so I'm able to hear this grind in pretty much every gear 1-4. I call it a grind.. but I really can't quite put my finger on it because when it does occur it only does so for a quick second. It's something metallic grinding or rattling and it's from the rear of my car. Could it be my differential? 100k miles on the diff with new fluid.

i had the same problem too i could never hear it at wot because car is loud at wot but at low rpms yes. it was my heat shield because i noticed one of the screws was spinning loose because it was stripped.

Yea, I already checked mine when I replaced the fuel filter. All the screws were fine and I made sure the shield went back on tight.

That's a good idea, and make sure nothing like a pebble is resting on the undertrays and rattling when it vibrates.

Also, make sure your exhaust and its heat shields is in good shape. My main cat had a couple clips break loose from the rust and they made a nasty squeaky rattle sound.

I'm almost certain it's something mechanical.. something metallic rotating.. could a worn differential cause such a noise?
