Need help bought car w/ heat disconnected...and tired of no heat please help
Hey everyone so when I bought my FD from Jersey the genius disconnected the heater and didnt tell me how or where so Ive been under the dash and the heater blower looks as new as when the car came out there arent any connectors disconnected, no wires hanging but I still dont have a single power setting for my heater blower and I checked and changed both fuses that it could have been but is there a reason to disconnect the heat for a single turbo swap or haltech e6k install? cause im stumped...could they have disconnected it from the main harness? need serious help this has been giving me a migraine for 6 years and if its just a stupid wire im gonna be really mad at myself lol...
any help/feedback is appreciated

From what you have said so far I take it that you are not getting any response from the switch. Does the blower motor come on at all when you turn the 1,2,3,4 ****?
Do the backlights come on for those switches? Just trying to see if the harness is unplugged behind the cenetr console.

do u even have a single turbo? i dont think a single wont pass emissions?
no affense but you dont really sound like you know what youre doing... i would recomend going to KDR rotary and ask dave to check it out... if everythings working it will be a quick fix and his prices are MORE then reasonable... theyre in New Tripoli PA..

and I posted it in single turbo faq because google sucks and first it sent me somewhere that told me haltech requires you to remove the heater core for install of the e6k which I called Haltech and they said this is completely wrong then I looked it up again and it said for the turbonetics single turbo conversion you need to remove the heater lines running underneath the turbo but they're still there and I just have no idea what is it at this point considering the blower motor works when I connect it directly to power and ground.
any mods can move this to 3rd gen tech or where ever it should be cuz I honestly didnt know where to ask on here this was a last resort before taking my car to a shop because I do the work to my car I hate having shops work on it and beat the hell out of it in their parking lot so I get in it and all I smell is clutch... so all im asking for is help so I can fix this and make my car PA street legal for the first time in her life...thank you whoever actually cares

talked to my friend and he'll pass it if I hook a switch up to the heater blower so im good here for now but im pretty sure its gotta be a resistor and the guy I bought it from just didnt wanna fix it cause he did all sorts of craziness to her ive had to clean up but still not done... if anyone thinks its something other than a resistor let me know im open to any suggestions...

Did this car by chance come from the factory with A/C?
Are there AC controls?
I'm just wondering if the box under the dash is missing.
That's where the A/C evaporator would be if so equipped.
If the A/C was removed, you may be in need of a guttted evaporator box.

The previous seller might have claimed it was disconnected and the heater blower probably went out.
If you cant navigate around the electrical side of the fsm, removing it and diagnosing it will be hard.
Email KDR or leave a message. He wont pick up the phone.
The actual heater blower assembly has one connector only that extends a few inches out of the heater blower. you might be able to run a multimeter through that connector and if it is within spec youll know if the heater blower itself is bad. Work your way with a multimeter and the FSM and youll eventually diagnose whats wrong.

so blower comes on but don't get any hot air out of the defroster or feet setting. The car will not blow out heat on the face setting, something about making you fall alseep.
Have you disconnected the lines going into the fire wall to see if the heater core is cloged. Mine was cloged and i had to basicly pressure wash the thing out to get it to work.

When you hook up power and ground does warm air come out of the vents (if yes then all the pipe work and radiator is still there). So first thing to do is remove the heater controls and check behind the back to make sure that the 1-2-3-4 speed is connected.

just because it kicks on when you hook up a power source doesn't mean it works.
If your looking to tackle the job yourself your going to have to dedicate some time to the FSM harness diagram. Its not that hard once you get the hang of it.
Dont start with flushing the core out. get the heater blower to kick on normally with all the speed settings then worry about the actual heat.
Sent you a link to the fsm. Have fun, report back once you do figure it out.
