Talking need help from auto's running PFC

Chris at Rotary Performance is trying to figure out how to resolve the hold function problem with running the power FC and auto trans. he is trying to find out what code the TCM is throwing to make the hold light flash. if he can get a code he may be able to electronically correct the problem and make this work for us auto guys. Chris is good with electronics and wants to help us out . anyone with info please call Chris at Rotary Performance (972-530-3335)

the hold light is flashing because the tranny computer is now stranded from the engine ecu and is not receiving input from the engine ecu. Your only options are to:

1. ditch the stock tranny computer for a PCS TCU www.transmissioncontroller.com
2. remove the bulb
3. cut the wire going to the bulb
4. put a piece of black tape over the light (ghetto)

BTW, there is a procedure to check error codes on the TCU just like there is for the ECU. Jump TAT and GND in the diagnosis connector, then turn the key on and count the hold light flashes. refer to k-214 in the 94 service manual.

That is all.

BTW there are other more functional problems besides the hold light flashing and the loss of the hold function, most notably improper lockup and slip of the torque converter.

Hey Weaklink. Thanks for the reply. can you give Chris a call and explane the problems you had with the trans. I think your the most experienced with this on the forum. Chris said if he knew whats causing the the problem (codes) he can wire something up to make it work right and take care of the light and shifting problems. it may be a long shot but he's willing to try he just needs the right info.
Thanks Again
Jeff
