Lightbulb Need advice on what to put on my bumper as it gets dirty and I'm tired of cleaning it

Ok don't laugh at the picture hehe, I'm tired of cleaning my bumper every week, as you see my exhaust pipe does not clear my C-West bumper and because of that the bumper gets dirty real quick.

I have seen pieces of carbon on eBay but they are made for the stock bumper.

BTW the car does not run too rich, it was properly tuned last year.

Give me some ideas, thanks !

It looks like it was running rich.

My bumper has never even seen a spec of exhaust soot since i owned the car. And thats almost 6 years.

How about a high flow cat and a good tune.

That's a sign that your running rich or straight through exhaust.

Get some of the gold thermal barier foil from pegesus auto racing and make your own guard.

My first thought too. I've been using the Eagle 1 stuff and it works pretty well on the wheels. Says it won't harm painted surfaces...and it can't be any harder on you bumper paint than what your doing.

Mine did that, alot, before it finally just cooked the paint off my bumper. I had to get a CF exhaust guard because of it.

Yes, I'm running fairly rich with a straight through exhaust.

A better tune would be the first solution or you can custom make your own bumper guard with an aluminum sheet.

Another solution would be to put a longer tip on your muffler.

Have your tip extended or turned down so that the carbon doesn't swirl up while driving.
Your Tip is to small
As they say...

SIZE does MATTER...

A good coat of wax always seemed to help the soot come off easiER! not that it was easy, though.

I've had pretty good luck using Rejex, same stuff they use on airplanes. I use Peek polish to remove the sut pretty easily.

Shave about 3/4" off the bottom of the tip so it is slanted. Leave the top portion stock length, but angle grind it off so .75" is gone off the bottom. This will change the air flow so that turbulence will take it on out.
