Question Need advice, differential housing

Hi all. I took down my differential because it was making a loud whining noise. As I took it apart everything look alright. There was a very slight play with the pinion gear. So I figure it could just be the crush sleeve that needed replacement. I took the pinion gear off and I found that the smaller bearing race spins freely in the housing and took no effort to remove. The other larger race is nice and tight and doesnt spin.
Is there any way I could fix this or the housing is done?

Hard to say, you'd have to know if it was the bearing or the housing that was messed up. Typically the bearing metal is softer, though.

Hell, might just be easier to get a good used diff. Less hassle and cost in the long run.

Agreed, for under $500.00 you can simply replace your high mileage diff with a Excellent condition low mile Jspec diff. Bolt it in, add the gear oil of your choice and go..

I have plenty:

I was just thinking of getting a new bearing race and see if it fits snuggly and doesnt spin, but they only sell the bearing and race together and thats 40 dollars from the dealer. So I guess I will have to get another one.
