I think SR Motorsports make a downpipe with a cat for USDM cars
Exactly...for USDM cars. Not for JDM cars, which have to worry about the steering rack location for the RHD. A downpipe made for a LHD FD will not work in a RHD FD, or vis versa

Duh! My brain did a mental swap. I guess you could get them to custom fab one, though then the cost would multiply dramatically. And SR do not exactly have a great reputation.

clutch, good tuner for the single, new intake (not sure the apexi set can fit up with the single turbo). new downpipe unless the turbo kit supplies one. Extra motor for when you blow that one.

i'm having dave at kdr tune it. any why would i blow the motor? you've never seen me drive and you should have no reason to think that i'm going to go out and beat the hell out of the car and red line it. Just because I'm putting all of these mods in the car does not mean that I'm going to make the engine go pop.

and it comes with the down pipe.

Actually, it's easy to blow a motor in 5th driving normally on the highway if there is a tuning or boost control issue.

Rotaries *like* to be redlined It cleans out excess carbon deposits.

+1

I'd also look into a boost controller (your powerfc may not have that add on and from my understanding (read as I have not used it) standalone ones work alot better), egt gauge.

I'm not saying have a motor on standby because of your driving I'm saying have one on standby just in case. The more mods you do the more you are apt to lower the reliablity. It doesn't take much expecially as dgeesaman stated for the tune to have the potential to pop the engine. I'd go ahead and pick one up send it off for rebuild, nice port, play with the current engine get used to your setup and how the car handles then when/if it does pop you got a nice ported spanking new engine to drop in and keep on rolling.
