Mystery big oil leak

I just replaced all of my injectors because they were leaking. The good news - the fuel smell is gone, the bad - there is now a huge oil leak somehow.

It is running down to the rear crossmember thing and leaking from there, so I can't tell exactly where it's coming from. It is all over the exhaust manifold, but looks like it was coming from where the exhaust manifold connects the the turbine housings, like it is seeping out the gaskets. I first thought I broke a plastic OMP line because there is one right over the primary fuel rail, but I don't think I did because there is no oil on top of the engine, only on top and under the exhaust manifold.

I will try and get some pictures up but I can't find my digital camera.

only thing i can think of that you might have upset when doing the injectors is the oil feed to the turbos. pull of UIM again,,,and check the metal oil feed pipe,,,make sure its tight up

I checked that and it's tight. I really think it's oil coming from inside my engine somehow. It is leaking out the exhaust manifold gaskets, how could this happen?!

Do you think that when I was unflooding my engine, the OMP was pumping oil into it so there was a bunch of oil inside it?

1) search the forum - i think that this one has been discussed before.

2) are you getting massive amounts of smoke out your exhaust? if not, then it is not coming from "inside" your engine.

3) clean the entire area around the leak area with de-greaser (parts/carb cleaner) run your engine around for a while and then go back and check. oil leaks tend to be hard to track because the oil just goes everywhere.

4) there is some dye that you can add to your oil that will show up under black light. this can help you trace the leak. check your auto parts store.

hope this helps,

-bill

Do you still have the stock downpipe/precat? I recently had a similar problem and found that the the precat was plugged up causing pressure to build up and force oil out of the engine. I replaced the precat with a SS downpipe and all is now well.

I have the same problem, one day I just used my remote start to start my car and by the time I went out to my car, it was smoking out the exhuast like crazy! Thinking it was my turbos I swapped the turbos with my friends old ones which were working fine when he took them off, and still had the same problem. From what I have been able to find out, it is an internal engine problem. I still feel stumped on the whole thing, cause the car boosts and runs fine just burns tons of oil.
