I can confirm that allowing the engine to suck it through a vacuum hose is SO easy and works SO well. But I don't use the boost controller hose. Take off the hose that goes to the BOV (don't wanna get it full of ATF), put some other hose on there and stick it into a bottle of ATF after the car has warmed up. It'll stall within 10 seconds, usually sooner. Let 'er sit, start 'er up, redline, replace plugs. Simple. I do this every other month or so.

Cool, I think I might give it a try this weekend. How much ATF should be used for the vacuum hose method?

If it removes carbon deposits, I imagine it can't be bad. I think someone mentioned that the oil needs to be changed as well after doing this, since the ATF will get into the oil.

a few questions...

what do u mean it stalls? after u remove the fuel pump relay or something? Do u let it suck through the bov vacuum nipple? (i know u have to use another line, but is that where u let it suck from?) and when u start it back up, do u leave the old spark plugs in till it stops smoking? One more, what is the effect on the main cat? will it clog it or what?

It will stall from all the ATF it sucked up in the manifold. Then let the car sit overnight or longer to work on the deposits. Start the car and watch it smoke. After its finished smoking change fouled plugs.

You can remove the your boost controller vacuum line and connect another hose that runs to a bottle of ATF.

Yes, that's the method that I used a few months ago, works just fine. Let it sit overnight or longer for best results. And like someone mentioned earlier... do it at night, it attracts less attention, and make a few high speed runs to clear it all out.

Marvel Mystery oil. I noticed a huge difference in my FD after putting in a dixie cups worth to a full tank of gas. I didn't notice it right away but definitely the next day. If it is basicially ATF it makes sense that I ran it the first day and the mystery oil coated the rotors. Over night it softened everythign up and the next day purged everything out of the engine. My FD has 55k miles on it and where the body and interior were kept imaculate the engine wasn't looked after alot. (lack of knowledge on the previous owners part? Maybe) the fuel filter was the original one that was sold with the car from the dealer back in 93! But it runs ALOT better now. Better response, better purring, and it idles softer too. If your not using it I'd recommend it.
