I recently swapped out my ic and noticed that it had a film of oil on the inside. I heard it was normal but i am not sure whats normal and whats excessive.
I also ordered a vacuum line kit cause thats what I thought the problem was at first.
After I put in a new greddy 2 row and fluidyne radiator I drove for a couple days and pulled the piping off. It has a layer of oil in the pipes and the curve at the edge of the piping trapped enough oil to tell the condition of my oil.
From looking at the engine the tubos are darker in color from oil, but the dp hasnt have oil on it. I also never get alot of smoke at start up or anything.
Is it just a vacuum leak with decent turbos or are they shot? BTW I feel both turbos kick on while i drive the car it just doesnt make boost over 4500.
If it is my turbos what single turbo do you recommend. I want a low lag turbo that makes decent hp on the stock motor.

I might be that one of you vacuum hoses is cresed a little, the silicone hose tend to crease and it takes a while for them to adjust to the angle they need to be at, and it just might not be getting enough vacuum through that hose, be real carefull that the vac hoses have pleanty of room so this doesnt happen

Do you think it is a leak or that the lines are fine just bad turbos? My car was running 100% until about a month ago. When a coupler blew off. Not a big deal just fixed it. 2 weeks later couldnt make more than 7psi.
I then ordered vacuum lines radiator and ic. Unfortunatley the ic and rad came first. So I installed them. Thats when I noticed all the oil.
Now i am here debating to do the vacuum lines I have or to go get a single and save lots of time. Unless all these symptoms are very normal and its just a leaky hose.

To clear up what I said before. It makes boost after 4500 it just never goes above 7psi. No matter what the profec B is set to no matter what I do. Fisrt turbo hits 7 then transition then 7 all the way to redline.

Sounds like an actuator or a vacuum line problem. 7 psi max is usually what happens after removing the restrictor pills from the pre-control and the charge-control actuator lines. Could be an actuator not functioning properly or it could be the wastegate not fully closing (getting stuck or jammed). But, the lack of smoke on startup or at WOT would lead me to believe that your turbos are okay.

If your turbos go bad you should still be able to make boost it will just take a long time to spool. Also when the stock turbos go bad usully it's the primary that goes bad so the symptoms would be a slow spooling primary then normal boost as soon as the 2ndary kicks in. Sound like you just have a vaccum line problem somewhere. Or a stuck actuator.

Will all the oil coming through the piping damage the new ic at all?

i have the same problem even though i am non-sequential. I heard that it might be the wastegate soleniod stuck open? Im going to try to switch my vaccum lines to the prespool soleniod and see if that will work in place of the wastegate soleniod.. ill keep you updating to if that works because that may be your problem
