My Tri-Power center gauge pod melted (PICS)

I installed my Tri-Power center gauge pod a couple weekends ago. Normally I park either in my garage or under my covered parking spot at work. The other day my car was parked in the sun in the afternoon and I came back to my gauge pod all melted and distorted.

Here are some pics. They don't really show much but it'll give you an idea. It looks worse in real life. You can see where the front melted and receeded in to expose the wiring. But the main thing is the left temp gauge melted into a goofy angle. Now it constantly looks like it needs to be pushed back into the pod and doesn't line up with the othe gauge face.

Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think this is grounds to get a replacement from RX7.com? Tell me what you think.

its happened to my pod but much more severe then that. to the point where it could no longer hold a gauge in it. i had my car parked outside for the summer monthes last year while the garage/basement were getting renovated. the plastic is cheap and thin so i'm not surprised it would melt. i cover my pods with a hat whenever it's parked outside, or better yet one of those sun reflectors would probably do the trick. if i remember correctly rx7.com was unable to help in getting mine replaced.

get a sunshade!
if its that hot in your car, I would also be concerned about the dash and other electronics
the gauge pod is just a warning as to what you are doing to the interior of your car

Its happened before. There was a similar thread last summer or the summer before. I've had mine for 3 years w/o issue but my car isn't parked out in the sun for a long time.

I got one in my FD but I try to keep it covered if it's parked outside of my garage for any amount of time. It gets hot in TX but not as bad as Nevada. It's that ounce of prevention thing.
