my seven reborn!!!!

I loved my car scince the second I purchased it....but now.....oh my...this is something I craved for awhile... The install I did my self (the only way to do it) this is probably not for eveyone, but I have a hard time trusting people with this car....there was a lot of cutting and mock up fitment, becuase I did not use the 99 rebar....The fitment is actually better then my stock bumper was, once all the right cuts were made...the lines are very tight and even....I have the 99 under tray and the RE oil cooler ducts.... I had to cut up the ducts a lot to fit and make a place where I could mount the 99 fogs... If I were to do it again I would just use the stock r2 ducts and cut those and extend them to fit... well I made it work....any ways just wanted to share some pictures of my car... I will post some more once I install my feed sideskirts.... maybe next time I will wash & wax it.....

IMO, the wing doesn't look right with that front end. Wingless is hot or match it up with a 99 spec. But hey, I'm a fan of the Series 6 front.

I like the 99 wing I just dont like the price tag...and also there are angels of it that I do not like...as where the stock wing from any view looks good and there is not a wing on the road that looks like it... other then another rx-7.... The 99 wing... there are plenty of wings that look very much like it ....dont get me wrong I do like it .... this is probably my reasoning to make me feel better until I can get one ....who knows but the stock is fine for now....here is a picture of the rear .... I will takes some better pictures of the side view once i get the feed skirts on ....

I do not keep anything in there that I do not need... I donate everything to good will if i do not use it... the garage for me is not a stoarge space... for random stuff ... if you are talking about the floors.... they have that epoxy floor coating on them from home depot that I applied my self...never again ... at least not in a checker board... took way to long and my back hurt for weeks ....

Rebar question?

Hey Sevenlust,

I have '99 bumper and turn signal sitting in my garage for install this spring. My question is how did you do it without the '99 rebar? Was the '99 undertray necesary or could it work witht the old one? I know others have done this too. Did you have to custom cut some Foam to give the new bumper support from sagging? I know already that the old rebar has to be cut to allow for the turn signals. I just don't want to spend the $450 for a '99 rebar if I do not need to.

I really like the '99 front end, but maybe it's just me, but I think it would look better if it were sleek and rounded like the 93-95 bumper (without the exaggerated license plate mount.)

yes i did not want to buy the rebar as i thought i could just modify mine.... all the fitment was done with out the turnlamps in place so light can come through the holes ...the undertray can be reused i think it just has to be trimmed a little, but not much... once everything was removed i placed the bumper skin to the rebar to see where it was hitting to cause it not to fit (that is where it needs to be cut ) really if you do not want to run fog lights you can probably get away with cutting the sides of the rebar... what I chose to do is trim the stock turnlamp holes bigger ... you should trim it more up top of the turnlamp hole until the new skin clears it .... really that is all that needs to be done... I did reuse the foam off the stock rebar and bumper ...this does not need to be custom cut to fit ....The airguid has to be cut off... that is the three plastic things that come down to secure the bottum of the stock bumper in the midle opening... i left mine attached up top but just cut off the pieces under the rebar....once i place the skin on the rebar and everything fit snug i then marked out the opening behind the plate in the front.... next i pulled the bumper back off and cut this out....once that was done i was finished ....just put it on and fit it up ... just make sure when you go to put it on that you dont just start tightening stuff up... fit it on with all th hardware still lose so you can move it around for adjustment.... if you have any more questions i would be glad to help....oh one more thing a dremel tool works wonders

I totally agree with you on these aspects of the 99 bumper.

What does yours exactly look like ... I forgot to mention I also had to relocate the horn because I was using the ducts from re and I was trying to fit the 99 fog lights in there as well ... To fit the fogs in the ducts withe the brackets on ... I had to trim the corners off so it would clear the fog brackets...I would suggest that you use cheaper stock ones or make them ....Once I get close pics of the fogs and ducts I will post them
